exactly what I think whenever I see a beer/liquor ad on tv - and consider all of the DWI deaths

I'm almost 9 years sober and have a pang whenever I see alcohol anywhere. Should alcohol be outlawed? Should guns be outlawed considering the number of accidental fatalities and murder by firearm? Should cars be outlawed considering the numbers of driving fatalities?

Foremost, that's not the essence of America. We don't ban first and ask questions later. At least the Constitution and Bill of Rights say that is not the case. Marijuana was outlawed during probably the most outrageous and un-American legal process ever. At the least I believe it should be allowed the status it had prior to being outlawed and then try to re-outlaw it in a fair judicial process. And it never will be under those circumstances.

Muslim belief brought about 9-11. Should we become of intolerant of religion? Should we ban religions because of their history of tragedy?

:soap:

Precisely my point earlier!! Research has shown that it does damage the hippocampus, the area for memory and reasoning.

The week before the election, I was at an indoor concert with my sister, and shortly after the featured band came on stage, some fool just down the row from where we were seated, decided he could light up his joint. And it wasn't legal yet here in Colorado. How the hell can they smoke pot indoors but not cigarettes? That junk gave me a miserable headache for the rest of the evening. Are folks gonna be considerate of others now that it is "legal" here in Colorado? I doubt it.

C'mon........ if you don't vote, then you will suffer.............

Right there with you Peter. Alcohol and tobacco are so much worse then mj, but due to the fact they are legal, they have a more positive view by society. It's sad, really.

I hate the stigma that comes with mj. The stereo-typical opinions of "potheads". It will take many states and many people a longgg time to get over that.

Cheech and Chong was a comedy. It wasn't supposed to be taken seriously.

i have a mmcard from my dr for my e cause it stops my side effects and petit mals so maybe im in a smaller percentage of those it dont hurt and i have one of the best epileptologists in the state so i trust him and i just go to a dispensory i see no problem with it but thats me.

I agree, with you. Any substance that is used for RECREATIONAL purposes that alter behavior, vision or any other physical impairement which could cause the person to lose control of self or machinery should be banned!
I lost a dear friend to a drunk driver, she never had a chance, and her grandbaby died 3 days later. They where both barried together. I lost my father to pancreas and liver cancer. He took his last drink 3 days later he died. I lost high school classmates to mj, leaving prom! Perhaps if they can abstract the benefit of mj and not the side effects it may make it tolerable. I know, there will always be side effects as there are always consequences. I just don't want to be the one that pays the consequence for someone else's pleasure.

Oh Mayrl girl..... you gotta get brave girlie and get regesterered to vote! Not just becasue you are a woman but becasue you are black woman. Women fought long and hard for the vote alone in many countries but for the minority vote they fought longer for it. For that alone you should be voting. And educating yourself on the ammendments on the ballots many which affect medical insurance issues, welfare issuses, social issues, medicare and medicaid things that might be affecting you every day and you don't even realize it becasue you and many others are afraid to vote. Just my 2 cents on voting I think it is important. Don't give into the fear. You too can a make a difference.

i am grateful for the sacrifice, but even more grateful for the choice! I now have a choice. Unfortunately their issues aren't mine. I have come close to registering, but have not seen my issues on the ballots.

Meryl you are not just voting for yourself....you are voting for those that do not have a voice also. This is how change happens.

They recently legalized MJ for all uses here, not just medical. I have no idea what it costs though, I have never used it and never plan to. I have no idea how it will be marketed now that it's legal. Are they going to sell it in drug stores? Heck if I know.
