OK, I have to admit off the bat, I was born in 1979, which means I grew up in the 80's. That is when we had the real transformers, GI JOE, Gummy bears, and everything else AWESOME!!! That also means I am about 30 years old. But for all of us who love the 80's, and everything about it, I create this thread.
 
Oh yes I do love the eighties. I was born in 1969, in '81 I was 12 and went to highschool. So the eighties were 'my' music years as a teenager (but I do love the music of the 70's too.)
 
He-Man and She-Ra oh yer I lived for those shows as a kid :pop: I had all the toys and I have them all on dvd lol I am a computer geek and it seems also an 80's show geek.

I was born in the early 80's and love the music and movies from that time. My twin sister and I listen to many styles of music, but the 80's seem to be something special.
In our music studio, we have 6 vintage 80's synthesizers (some are 20 years old- an still work!) 2 modern synthesizers and lots of recording equipment and cables. Lots of cables!

Danielle and I compose many styles of music but we tend to stick to the 80's and new-age style.

LOL I was thinking about our studio and I remember that my twin put together a poster of small post card advertisments from local Austin music stores. Most of them show old vintage studio equipment and some show music CD covers and arework. She also has an acutal 8in floppy disk! LOL that thing is big, almost the size of a half sheet of paper LOL.
Now thinking about how micro-processors and chips are made now-a-days, that thing looks silly!

There is a music store we go to that has a wall of monitors from the Comador 64 computers LOL. They're hooked up to an Oscilliscope that displays random waveforms and synthesized sound on it.

She has done some artwork for the store and they have it hanging up there. She does artwork, more like a photograph type drawings of vintages synthesizers and keyboards we have in our studio now.

Anyway- my twin is known as the synthfreq since she basically has become a Ph.D. in synthesis theory LOL hehehe.. oh and is a "freak" about synthesizers and music LOL

Oh yeah, born in '77. As a little girl, Annie was my idol. LOL My favorite TV shows as a kid were McGyver and The Dukes of Hazard. The first concert I went to was Poison!!! OMG this trip down memory lane is just what I needed. Thanks :roflmao:
 
The 80s were good and bad.

Bad - my E started in the 80s. :(

Good - my daughters were born in 1979, 1984, 1987. That made those years pretty good.
 
Yep, Yep...I have a fondness for the 80's, lol. I graduated High school in '84, served in the Navy from that point thru '90, was into the music though more on the rock and metal side of the house than the hair bands and techno, lol. It was a good time, I'm glad we didn't have computers or addicted to video games and our butts weren't glued to the TV. I had better things to do than talk on the cell phone all day or update my status on facebook 2000 times with cutesy things and play apps.

I could just see the look of horror on some girl's face if one of their friends turned to them and say "hey, lets skip school tomorrow and go fishing...I'll pick up some worms on my way home this afternoon".........:roflmao:
 
I was born in '86, but i'm a real 90's person :D

The fashion of the 80's was coming back in over here a little while ago, but my opinion is that it should have been left there! :roflmao:

I remember when schools didn't even have computers. Well, except the admin people in the office maybe. And when nokia 3210's were the most awesome phone ever, but we couldn't afford one.

I still remember playing on my spectrum ZX too. Actually, i think we still have that. Video games loaded via cassette and half an hour of flashing box on the telly waiting for it to load >.<

I was born in 65 so the 70's bring back great memories. But I graduated in 83. And music was the game. I love dancing, and singing. Great dancing music!
 
I was a big, big fan of an 'old man' who made his comeback in the early eighties. Being a 14 year old teenager I went to my very first concert in 1983: The serious Moonlight Tour in Rotterdam
Great memories to share... I also loved his music form the seventies, had all the (vinyl) records and played them on my 'pick up' untill they were gray.

My peeps!! I was born in 1980 and my BF and I are huge fans of 80's music. My favourite shows were the Cosby show and Alf, loved Alf!
