wht kind of seizure!!

Hi, I really need advice. I had E since 2006 with usually grand mals. And a lot of "auras". But last week, I had something really strange go on.
I guess I started talking in my sleep Sunday night (husband said) which I never do. Then I kept going to the bathroom and he told me to stop, then I asked him where the window was (?). Well he got really nervous and took me to the ER Monday morning. I don't remember a thing. He told them I had Epilepsy and they admitted me into a room. The whole next day (Monday) I was blabbering, telling him he was trying to make me crazy and doing this on purpose to me, telling him his family don't like him (? - they do like him). Then Tuesday I started to come around but was slurring and couldn't quite understand what people were saying. I did not get an EEG til Thursday cause they were behing so that didn't help much.
Does anyone know if this is a seizure or what kind? They just said it was multiple seizures and that was that. Just seems weird to last about 24 hours and I don't remember a thing!! Please help? Thank you.

Hi Kim --

It sounds like a series of Complex partials, since your consciousness was semi-impaired. Do you know if your epilepsy originates in a particular part of the brain? That could be one clue to what's going on.

Also, can you think of any particular trigger for this event? Have you been unusually stressed (physically, physiologically, and/or emotionally)?

I know after some of my seizures I have trouble talking. I think I'm coherent but people tell me I don't make sense.

Occasionally I have trouble understanding as well but not as often. I am aware in that I remember it happening & coherent enough to try to fake my way through the situation.

I have both complex and simple partials. Sounds like me when I am in a complex partial...I will walk, drive, cook....and do not remember a single thing. It can go on for anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour. The doc said the seizure itself is only a minute or less and this is actually the post-itical phase.
After my seizure, I am confused, dizzy, and dont talk very cleary...mumbling and not making much sense at all.

Hi, Kimba,

I get something similar. It sounds like a complex partial seizure, because of the altered conciousness. They usually last under 3 minutes or so. If yours are lasting longer, it's good your husband took you to the ER. It could be Status epilepticus, which can be dangerous.

My complex partials, I keep walking, talking, or whatever I was doing at the time. I make perfect sense, but say really crazy stuff. Someone who doesn't know me would think I'm awake. I also do some really wacky stuff like throwing silverware on the ground, throwing lemon slices, moving my chair around, taking my cloths off. Yikes! I'm also usually really confused afterwards, and don't remember a thing.
