http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wow!_signal
I learned about this ^ incident from a Sci-Fi channel show (I don't recall name of show right now but it's hosted by William Shatner, called "Weird or What?" it may be called).
There was an astronomical event that happened to SETI astronomers that was a giant peak from the big dish telescopes.
Other events discussed on the show: events that occurred during seances, images of aliens, feeling "presences", extra-normal phenomenon... Then I heard about the Wow! incident and it all clicked- seizures!
wow! incident like a universe seizure readout on EEG, the other phenomenon like events experienced during seizures
It occurred to me this is one possible reason for the shunning of epilepsy for so long - people acting strange, reporting seeing strange things, feeling and experiencing other-worldly phenomenon...
I don't know. just something I was thinking about.
the show is entertaining.
