Since I work at the hospital one of the benefits they offer is you can fill 3 months supply of your medication at their outpatient retail pharmace for the cost of two months' copays.
So, now that I am on a theraputic dose of Keppra I sent them my order. The phamacist calls me and says "I just want to make sure that you were going to pick up this medication because it's so expensive." I was like "what???" Was my insurance coverage applied to it? She said yes, I am getting a very GOOD deal through my insurance but the cost to the pharmacy before they bill my insurance is HUGE and once they score the pills they cannot send it back. She said people change their mind often and they get stuck with the medication.
I assured them that I would pick it up today. I had already been on it for a month and the side effects had mostly subsided and I was beginning to see an improvement.
If I needed a reason to stay put at my job, there it is!
