when you look down and realize you have a popsicle stick in your hand and orange goop all over you, and you don't know how it happened :roflmao:

when you've made more friends in the nurses office than anywhere else in the school.

when your american history teacher begs you not to watch the WW1 footage

one of the places you have to look to find your glasses in the morning, incude the hood of the car outside.

When your best friend asks if you've heard from the aliens lately.

Huh?

(She tells you later she figured out you had an altered consciousness seizure when you told her that you talk to aliens all the time, because it's out of character and you sure don't remember telling her this, or anything like it)

Laughing.... nope. I have TLE, but voices aren't one of my seizure types. I do say and do pretty wacky stuff when I'm having a CP seizure. It's usually in complete sentances, and when I say something that's a bit nuts my friends and family have to figure out if I'm having a seizure, making a joke, or totally serious.

So there are no aliens, and they don't talk to me. I wasn't playing a joke on her, either. So she finally figured out it was a CP. I didn't know I had had it, and didn't remember saying anything. When she told me I was pretty surprised. lol...

Geez, I was thinking of signing up for the gym. Funny, I was just thinking about the treadmill last night. If I breath to heavily it leads me to hyperventilate and then I go into a tonic clonic. I "could" keep the speed on low.

Luckily i don't have my speed too high anyway. My balance is terrible, so i settle for a fast walk rather than a run!

you know you have epilepsy when -

1) you wake up to find your 10 year old daughter on your bed looking very concerned and feel you can reassure by singing like a drunk.

2) you log on to facebook in the morning to find a dozens of notifications about comments on statuses you've commented on that you have no recollection of and when you check you see you were having obscure conversations with people in the early hours of the morning that you have no recollection of.

3) you are trying to reassure child welfare that you are capable of looking after your children and forget halfway through the sentence what point you were trying to make.

4) you lose the ability to spell even though you were always top in your english class.

5) you realise you've been staring at the screen for an hour wondering how to phrase what you want to say only to realise you have no idea what you were typing and have to reread whatever it was you were replying to in the first place.

6) you spend hours online trying to find like minded people so you can laugh about things without people telling you that you shouldnt joke about it.

oh and i also keep telling my children off for doing obscure things like bringing me rubbish bags while i'm in bed or leaving the laptop on the floor in my bedroom. i then have to apologise when they get upset and tell me that i told them to and they thought it was a bit odd but i told them to stop arguing all the time and do as they're told for once. worst part of that is they're actually pretty good kids. lucky for me they just laugh it off

and when people giggle and ask you what you've 'been up to' when they notice carpet burns on your arms and legs but then stop laughing and apologise when they notice the one on your forehead and the big bruise on your head. i still found it funny even if they didnt

This isn't so much a you know you have epilepsy as to tell y'all how awesome I am. I can keep on julienning carrots for a salad with my green Pampered Chef knife while having a partial. Oh yeah!
that is pretty awesome. i'm more likely ot slice into my finger. and yes i did go for the pampered chef knife that has the special case so it sharpens itself before every use.

Alison Alison, lol lol I think we are related .
I have done everything you just said. I think ??????????????
This popped up in mail and I needed a lol .The carpet burns no,oddly enough I never did but THEN I started falling on a wood floor at night and rubbed myself so hard with my feet and leg I have permanent scars from the rubbing weird HUH?.......................... Thx Rick :roflmao: :brain: HURTS

i could add more. including waking up to find the remains of pasta with a cheese and mushroom sauce that i had no recollection of making.

oh and forgetting all the things that remind me i'm epileptic until i've already posted several times and feel kinda stupid.

glad it made you laugh. i've had all sorts of injuries. including the sores from rubbing during seizures. last week i woke up on the hall floor at 2am with a huge lump on my forehead and my neighbour sat next to me telling me i'd been asleep for an hour and i should try to get to bed. i just started laughing as for some reason i found this incredibly funny. most people dont understand why sometimes i just laugh when i come round but sometimes i find myself in ridiculous situations.

you know you are an epileptic if you lick the bottom of your 13 year old daughter's sweaty foot after she removes her soccer cletes after a soccer game...

when...

you wake up naked and in a different place than you went to sleep.
and that's not the weird thing.

when your friend asks you how wasted you are right now and you haven't taken a single sip of alcohol lol i guess i'm just a natural drunk :roflmao:

i know that one. i also had doctors/paramedics repeatedly shouting 'what have you taken' while i struggled to regain full consciousness for long enough to tell them i'd had a seizure. hought i'd solved this by buying a medic alert necklace but noone seems to bother to check it

maybe i should get a bracelet too or something more noticable. i went for one that i thought looked pretty and wouldnt have everyone staring. when i did basic first aid i was taught to always look to see if there is a bracelet or necklace so thought i t would be enough but it seems some people forget this
