You know the person is a real friend when...

They ask me "Tell me again what I do if you have a seizure" and not "OH MY GOD, WHAT IF YOU HAVE A SEIZURE???!!!!?????

I don't get to see my friends that often, most of them live an hour away or out of state. Since I can't drive it's hard to get together. They usually always ask what they should do if I have a seizure. I have a VNS so I think that's part of the reason and they want to make sure they are using it right. They don't worry that it might happen, they could care less about that.

I think I lucked out, in that the friends who've seen me have a seizure have been able to deal with it well.

I have lost so many "friends"over this. After my first tc, I was understandably freaked out. I was having regular auras, memory issues and frequent simple partials. After about 2 months my "best" friend told, me she thought I was imagining all of it and it was time to get over it. It wasn't long after that that we had a huge falling out.

Now I have only 2 friends that come and visit. No one seems to want to know me anymore.

Only one of my friends saw me have a seizure, and that was when I was in the hospital when I was first diagnosed.

I have horrible memory problems too. My friends and I joke about it because they can't believe the stupid things that I don't remember. One of my friends told me that I got up on a bar and started dancing with my shirt off (hopefully still had my bra on). I can get a little crazy some times, and I don't even have to be drunk to do it, so I could have possibly done this. I usually don't even drink when we go out. I always laugh and tell them that they could tell me that I did anything and I will believe them. Sometimes I think they do just to see how far they can go with it? :roflmao:

My friend was telling me recently about a half stoned/drunk guy that tried picking us up a bar once. He was trying like everything to get us to go to his boat with him "It's a really nice boat, why don't you come see it!" he kept asking. I remember that we snuck out of the bar, actually crawling underneath the windows in the front through the parking lot so he couldn't see us, but I couldn't remember why we did it.

I'm pretty good at picking up so real winners in bars so if anyone ever want's to get together and go out let me know. Too bad we probably won't beable remember doing it so we can laugh about it later!

a couple of friends have seen me having a seizure, so they know what the signs are and what to do. but at work some of the girls have told me not to have a seizure at work because they wouldn't know what to do and they have jobs to get done
