It is not a fact that 90% of people with avian flu die. One of the worst influenza pandemics known -- the 1918-1919 pandemic -- infected about 1/5 of the world's population. Of those infected, 10 to 20% died. Is that too many? Sure it is. But I don't think even the bubonic plague killed 90% of the people in the European countries it struck.

Yes, you're right about how many died. I got so scared and extrapolated from what you could read above, I was reading about birds instead of humans. Again it is because of the limited human-to-human transmission and not because it's a mild virus. You can read about the asian strain of H5N1 that killed 60% of the known infected ones. I only said what I understood, that' is the biggest danger: a specific strain adapting to one species and spreading to another.

Hi, I have often thought that we would not be here discussing this topic, if our ancestors had gotten the 1918-1919 flu. They did not have flu shots back then.

I take a Cal/Vit D complex. When I was on tegretol my bone density scores suffered. I also try to get a good deal of sunshine everyday. I actually started to feel better after I started taking the Vitamin D and it also seemed to help my muscle cramps in my legs. I also do yoga and have been doing now for 10 years. I do the basic poses, nothing fancy.

In what is being seen as the first of many such actions to come, nine individuals have filed formal charges claiming that the H1N1 campaign is a deliberate attempt to poison the French population.

These charges, which were filed yesterday, could not come at a more inopportune moment for the government and health specialists. The vaccination campaign got underway last Tuesday in a climate of national skepticism as to the vaccine’s safety and efficiency, and this news will surely boost the morale of the increasing number of anti-vaccine lobbyists who are beginning to organize their resistance to any attempt to vaccinate the population against H1N1.

"This is the cytokine storm, and there are ways to modulate this. However, most people who are getting seriously sick and dying already have compromised immune systems or neurodvelopmental disabilities. Remember only 2% of "flu" is H1N1 and over 99% of those acquiring have MILD illness. For nearly everyone this is a NON issue. This is NOT a pandemic, you are only being told it is. Best thing to do is to optimize your vitamin D levels and get your blood levels checked"

someting is very fishy with this. Robin I went to the facebook site you posted of the Doctor and ended up finding mandatory swine flu vaccination sites....though we dont know yet if this will happen.

I am not getting the vaccine. I agree.. its all hype...ridiculous...i havnt had flu since a fresher at university where thousands were gathered from all over hte coutry living in 1 dorm...after that flu mutated for a year on and off i seem to now have a very strong immune system lol.

I am now very suspicious of an under-lying agenda.. and I dont think its money.

Maybe they are trying to make us all into zombies.. maybe the vaccine is a disease that will lay dormant a short while lol....

guess ive been watching too many zombie apocalypse movies.. lol...

Hi, what I am wondering about is why they are making it manatory for pregnant women. Their unborm baby cannot handle that strong a vacinne. Are they trying to see what it will do to unborn babies.

I thought of Thalidomide. It was a medicine that was used for pregnant women for morning sickness. The babies were born with severe birth defects: three legs and a whole lot of other weird defects. I have forgotten which decade it was in. It was either the 1950's or 1960's.

I was at the Allergist today and I asked her if I needed the H1N1 shot and she said just having the E doesn't put me in the high risk category. She said I didnt have to have the H1N1 shot my lungs and heart are fine. The kids are complaining they don't want it and I am not going to force them to get it especially since we don't know enough about this vaccine. I did get the seasonal flu shot though.

Here, pregnant women are in the first risk group. My friend is scheduled for the second shot 4 days before her due date. The dates for the vaccinations can not be changed because the shots are coming in multidose vials. It's said to be safe after the first 3 months of pregnancy and within 2 month before conception.

Of course not on pregnant women nor children. The info I found about the 2 types ordered by the government here is found on the European Medicines Agency site, you can actualy read the package leaflet. They have been tested the marketing formulation on ~130 adults aged 18-60. About reaction in children they talk about a clinical study on a similar vaccine, I imagine a regular flu shot... You can read everything, once you know how much thimerosal and squalene it has, you decide...

DanaC, I find this rather humerous. So it's ok to have the vaccine after the first trimester or 2 months BEFORE conception. I don't know about the rest of you, but I don't know many women who can conceive on a specific date that they plan.

In Europe they put something in the vaccinees (cant remmeber what its called ) that is not FDA approved out here. Also, Germany has 2 swine flu vaccines, one for the general public that contains this recipie not allowed here, and one for their military that doesnt contain it...

funny huh

Hi everyone,
Another robin here.........lol....have been reading your posts and I am on the fence when it comes to getting this vaccine. One minute I am "no way" and the next..."well maybe" . My son has Asthma but not to bad. I have Epilepsy and that is what brought me here. I am 51. We did get the reg Flu show however...well all but my 15 y.o. He did not want to so i did not press it.

The problem with me is that the lack of info about the virus itself and how it will or will not affect us. All the hype from the Media back when was so out of hand and did not believe what they were saying. I did not panic. I have been a Nurse for 28 years(practiced for 21 years)....have been a SAHM for the last 7 years with an active licence. Have been talking with many of my Doc friends and half are saying yes get it and the other are saying not to....

They have all read the info...trust them to read the info but not our GOV on adverse reactions and what is in it. They have not helped either :ponder: Some have to get because of the mandatory mandate but said they would have anyway...others said nope....but ill get it cause they have no choice....but are not having a single family member get it.

This all I find very interesting.....when it comes down to it , it comes to ...for those that want it to feel safe than they should get it...for those that dont want it to feel safe should not get it....I cant decide where I stand in that group....UGH!
