I found a new trigger tonight.
It was obvious and immediate but it makes sense.

Blowing up a balloon!!

I have read about how it uses fine muscles in your mouth and oddly your eyes so it makes sense if there is any damage or weakness.

Totally unexpected...and strange!

But my husband did a great job blowing up all the squiggly balloons for my daughter's 3rd b-day party!

Actually hyperventilating is a common trigger for seizures.

I remember my parents used to get worried about me overexerting myself & hyperventilating in Phy. Ed when I was in high school.

Hyperventilating...that makes sense.
I only did two puffs on the balloon but it would still be an alteration in my breathing pattern.
Perhaps I am sooooo out of shape that blowing up a balloon was overexertion! Bahaha.

I hope anything didn't ever happen to you in phys. ed.
That brings back high school memories for me. I was an A student but phys. ed always brought down my average. The comments were along the lines of "she tries but lacks true athletic ability". Still makes me giggle.

I was lucky & had no problems in Phys. Ed, at least not as far as having seizures is concerned.

I was also awful in it because my co-ordination & perception were so messed up from my meds. Come to think of it I think they phrased it on my report card very similarly to how they did on yours

Thats funny you bring up Phys. Ed. My mom and I were just talking about this the other day. I recall in elementary school in P.E. having to climb a rope to the top. This rope was very long and went to the ceiling of the gym. Looking back, my mom said she is suprised I didnt climb to the top and have a seizure and fall. She said the school should have known better not to allow me to climb the rope and keep me off. I recall having lots of seizures in those days. One time I had a seizure during my sixth grade year, a really bad one. Our class was taking a trip to the local skating place and I had a seizure while I was there. I was so out of it that I dont recall anything. The only thing I remember is the other sixth grade teacher sitting next to me, holding me up, making sure I was ok til my dad got there to pick me up.

I was seizure free for 6 years. Then while working as a civilian in Afghanistan I walked by the stage area and toby keith was playing a concert. I had a seizure that night. I blame Toby Keith. I never have liked his music, now I have another reason.. haha.

Get a balloon pump. I make balloon animals (well I think I still do. I have been out of balloons for a long time) and I can't get those long balloons blown up to save my life. They are really quite cheap but rather than look on ebay, look for a good clown / circus / street performer supply shop. You'll actually get something that works that way. I can spend hours looking at those sites, even though all I can do is balloon animals and face painting. (I'm great for parties but there is no way I can afford liability insurance)

Oh and I sucked at P.E. in school too. A) I have limited physical coordination (I'm serious. My mum and Nan used to constantly tell me I was the only kid they'd ever met that could trip over the patterns in lino) and B) in teams sports I either lacked the stamina or the focus to be of any use.

It triggers seizures for me too but I was ok in p.e. Lets just say that but if I get panicked or I dont breathe after one I cluster into about 10 of them in less than 30 minutes.i can only play sports because of instincts, but get to hot will have a seizure suks.
