a little worried

although i dont remember I was found in a ditch friday night. I was taken to the hosoital and thye said I had a seizure. They made me stay because my speech was slurred. They let me go the next morning. My speech is still really slow, and Im having hard time getting words. vision is blurred, and hard time walking. on top of the normal tired, and soreness, im really out of it. is it normal to be this different after a seizure. i have a call into my neuro so hopfully he cahelp

Well, mine wasn't that bad - being found in a ditch! I had my wife with me to help. I was in a 'coma' state she called it for 20 mins after the seizure. While in the hospital my speech was slow, as well as my thinking, and I kept drifint into complex partial seizures. They kept me for 3 days.

I would make sure you have someone around you to keep a helpful eye out. Hopefully your apt is soon and you can start the process of finding the right medication.

I had epilepsy since I was 4yrs. old and I've learned over the last 30 yrs. that depending on the type of seizure you had will usually depend on how long it takes to recover. Because I have had T/C's S/P"s, C/P's and many others and they all affect me differently! And now that I am back to complex partials it causes me a great deal of pain because of having so many types in my life! So hang in there!

My post ictal state is never that bad....or that long lasting. Definitely call the neurologist.

My neuro got me in first thing this morning. Im feeling a little better, but still in a fog. He said it should clear, and things are just scrambled. He did add zonagrin? He is hoping a secong drug will help. Wants me to go in for a veeg. The last one I had showed nothing, but the sleep deprived showed spikes. He said he needs a clear focus? Not sure what that means, but said it was ok by me.

Glad to know you are doing well and hope it all
goes well with the video EEG and they capture
the problematic issues so you can be treated
properly! But sure glad you are okay. It is not
unusual for one to have a postictal state that
lingers on for awhile, I've had some that lasted
for several days before my brain ever got back
to synchronization! But at least your Neurologist
has given you the assurance and moving you forward!
