Have any of the meds you take/have taken effected your weight? If so, which meds, and how did they effect you?

I lost fifteen pounds on Zonegran, and have never been able to gain it back (not including my pregnancies). Even though I am no longer taking Zonegran, I haven't been able to gain it back on Trileptal either. I think Z caused actual loss, but T has effected my appetite, causing me to eat less and therefore stay at the lower weight.

I'm sorta hoping that will change on Lamictal and Vimpat, and that I will finally be back up to my good weight (wishful thinking I'm sure).

I lost weight on Dilantin and Zonegran, gained it back (and then some) on Lamictal. Not sure I can blame all the gain on Lamictal, it could just be my lazy-ass lifestyle catching up to me...

I was on some where I gained a ton of weight, blew up like a baloon. Some I lost a ton of weight on, mainly because I wasn't hungry at all and didn't eat anything for days.

I'm sorry but I don't remember what these meds were, I've been on so many through the years and these are the reasons I stopped taking them.

I need to find some skinny meds now, or just get up off my butt and move around. Getting into a bathing suit is not going to be pretty :roflmao:

lost a bit on topamax, but more than anything it kept my weight stable when i started letting my lifestyle go a bit and prob would have put it on.
lamictal not so friendly tho. didn't put on whole lot, 10 pounds maybe, but it doesn't keep the appetite or weight down in any respect :(
new to vimpat so we'll see, don't have high hopes tho. as i sit here eating a huge chocolate cookie from the bakery.
anyone else agree with me that we'd all look like models if it weren't for having kids in the house?! there would never be cookies and chips and cheese and the massive carbs like pasta and bread that kids want/need to keep going. man!

I lost about 20kg over the 2 years that I was on Topamax.

gained it back (and then some) on Lamictal. Not sure I can blame all the gain on Lamictal, it could just be my lazy-ass lifestyle catching up to me...
I'm the same, I slowly gained the weight after I went of Topamax & went on Keppra. I only put on about 8 kilos in the last 5 years that I been of Topomax.
I'm sure my weight gain was more because some times I eat unhealthy food but no where near as much as I used to.

I lost nearly 20 lbs on Topamax, and have gained over 30 lbs on Keppra and have lost my appetite, yet still gained :(

I've been noticing that Vimpat has curved the appetite. Also when I eat, I'm noticing I'm not eating as much. I haven't check the weight, but just based on what I'm seeing, I would imagine I may have lost some weight.

It is indeed scary and I refused to believe it until I could no longer button my jeans and had buy new jeans that were two sizes bigger than the old ones!

yep shawn, that's when it really sinks in ey :(
and you're like, 'okay, well i'll work on losing a few now and get back into the old ones. the new jeans will be all the reason i need!' and then...
