...are you usually compelled to try to recall as much of it as possible?
I'm compelled to, but it really disgusts me - thinking back on the experiences disgusts me... but overall I feel compelled to know what the pre- and post-ictals are like.
Last night I had a sleep seizure and I want to forget all about it.
The aftershocks (still had a couple, now 8 hours later) are enough to deal with.

I took my first 10mg citalopram last night, prescribed yesterday, so I'm also compelled to keep track for that reason, as well as just being familiar with the experiences.

I did put a blurb in my diary and wrote an email to my family, but sinking back in to the experience is bad

I try to remember as much as I can, and ask hubby lots of questions if he sees it happen. The doctors always ask so many questions, I like to have as much to tell them as I can. I especially like it if hubby can be there, because he can answer so many questions that I can't.

I'm sorry that you're having such a hard time lately. *hugs*

I try, but it's difficult. When it transitions from simple partial to grand mal, I only remember up to a certain point. I experience my auras (visual hallucination/blindness in one eye, nausea, anxiety/fear, loss of speech and/or comprehension of speech), but after the auras mentioned, I'm out. Once I go into a complex partial seizure (repetitive phrases), I can't remember it. I don't remember the last grand mal I had past freaking out that I couldn't understand what anyone was saying.

I don't remember the post-ictal stages either. Some of my coworkers told me I was "unresponsive" after my last grand mal. This makes me think that it was a "the lights are on but nobody's home" kind of situation. I woke up completely in the ambulance. I felt very drunk. It was like I had drunk a 6 pack of beer in an hour. I remember having to think for a second to remember my name and birthday. It came out pretty slurred.

No fun.

When I have had a complex/partial seizure I usually didn't remember anything from just after the aura starts until I come out of the partial seizure. I would try to get as much information as I could for my seizure diary so if I was with family or friends (who were familiar with my seizures) & they would give me details on how I was & what I did.
If I had a seizure while on my own (eg at home or walking down street) I could only go by instinct & how I felt afterwards.
