I have had epilepsy since I was 13 and up until I was 18 I had no issue. I was on Depakote till I was 17 when I was switched to lamictal. It was then my seizures came back while I was at work counting the drawer in a room with horrible lights and an old CRT monitor. Ever since then, I had a fear of seizures in public I think is holding me back. Then until last fall (when I thought I was uninsured but turns out I am) I was on no meds and was okay until a seizure and a close call in public scared me and now I have little issue shopping in WalMart and such and my recent seizures have been only on days where I got like nothing for sleep that night and I had little issue in public places. Well I have had enough and I am trying to get back to what I had before the seizures started happening. I am taking my meds like I should and trying to get the sleep I need. So is a lot of this in my head? Should I keep trying to live a normal life?

Also is it possible to scare yourself or psych yourself into feeling bad?

Not getting enough sleep is a big seizure trigger for me, this may be what brought yours on.

I've had quite a few seizures in public and it has really never bothered me. I can have a seizure at any time doing anything, home or away. The way I look at it is - I could sit at home and do nothing and might have a seizure or I can go out and enjoy life and might have a seizure. Which is better?
