Hello everyone,
I don't believe I have posted in awhile. Of course, I could have and just don't remember as I seem to be losing my memory more and more these days. To update: I'm finally having that 48 hour EEG done in January. After my last employer's insurance declined the coverage due to the "not a medical necessity" statement, I'm just going to work out a payment plan with the facility that is conducting it. I'm praying my medical insurance will cover some of it but I've already encountered a few "pre-existing condition" comments so we will see.
I have to say that I am really looking forward to having this procedure done, as odd as that may sound. I just want some answers and I am really hoping something is recorded during the two days of being hooked up. Regretfully, I haven't been keeping detailed notes in my seizure journal like I did when all this began in July. In the last couple of months I have had some good weeks with no "episodes" and then I have some with them happening constantly. Although, if I were to have continued recording them, I would have an accurate timeframe. I can honestly say that I feel as though I have at least 1 per week. They are getting a bit rough for me. I'm grateful that I haven't had any grand mal's but I am starting to lose bladder control. I'm grateful my husband came to my rescue last week when I had an episode at work. I was able to make it to the bathroom before fainting but once I hit the ground ... oy. And lately I have this continuous sulfur/gas smell I can't seem to get rid of. I've asked several people around me if they smell it and I am always disappointed that they don't. Oh, well!
But, I did want to thank absolutely everyone on this website. It truly has been a lifesaver for me. I know how hard it can be to share your experience with total strangers. I truly appreciate being able to log in to this website and know that I am not alone on this bizarre little journey that I embarked upon 5 months ago. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
I wish everyone a very Merry Christmas!
God bless,
Stacey :xmas:
