I was told I had a seizure about a half hr ago while making dinner for my Sister and I. Of course, I wasn't aware of having it, but I came out of it standing in the kitchen with my Sister on the phone with our Father telling him about the seizure. He was concerned that I wasn't feeling good after it was done, but I feel fine.

It is very difficult describing my seizures to my family since they had never had one, and difficult for them understand that it doesn't hurt when I have a seizure and that I'm never aware of having them. I try to have them experience it in my point of view, and that's just having them blink! Because to me, no time has passed, it's like I had blinked.

I'm just happy that I didn't loose bladder control! But my Sister told me that my arms were flapping all over the place, and that would explain why my fingers are a bit sore, I must of hit them on the counter!

People NOT understanding What Happens During a Seizure

I have faced having people NOT believing what I told them about E. In some cases I have even gotten publications written by professional specialists to prove what I am saying, only to have someone tell me that 'I had created the pamphlet just to try and trick them into believing me.
There are so many people in denial as to whether or not E exits, sometimes it seems to be useless to try to get them to understand.
The biggest problem with these people is that there are SO MANY of them who think that if they have NOT experienced something, it can't exist. They feel as though only what they have experienced can be true.
It is very interesting to watch people like this when they suddenly have something happen to them that they have been refusing to believe existed. They suddenly are asking for everybody to understand them, even though they had lived their entire life refusing to understand others.:ponder:

I'm glad you're feeling okay seizuregirl. I hope you weren't cooking over the stove when the seizure hit!

Hi seizuregirl,

For many yrs. I have had seizures and I didn't even realize it until the seizure was over or my husband told me. I will continue cooking, talking with a person and I don't remember a darn thing. It reminds me of a person whose had a few to many drinks and they forgot what happened the next day. Here's wishing you only the best and May God Bless You!

Hi Seizuregirl,

Glad to hear it wasn't a painful seizure. I remember when I used to get grand mals...wow, it hurt like hell! It took days before I even had the energy to stand up and walk. I haven't had any of those in a very long time.

I wish you well,

Joey
