Hello, I recently posted about a strange hallucination I had in the middle of the night...well on Thursday I had another weird episode. I was at work and was walking across a room when I suddenly felt very unsteady, like on a boat, and everything was tilty. I also felt lightheaded. I stumbled about 100 ft back to my office and sat down, put my feet up, and drank water. Soon I started to become shaky and was shaking about every 2 min. There was an occasional stronger jerk of my arm or leg. Even my teeth felt a little chattery. My coworker had me drink tons more water, eat a piece of candy, and eventually lay down..the shakiness and bad dizziness/off balance feeling went away after about an hour. I felt slightly unsteady for about 2 more hours. I was completely coherent the whole time, which was weird.

My mom took me to urgent care but it was when I was back to feeling almost normal. My hr was 115, my bp was 150/90, and my temp was 99.1. my electrolytes and blood sugar were fine. The urgent care doctor thought vertigo, my gp thought maybe blood pressure, and my neurologist raised my lamictal by 50 mg (to 350 mg).so I don't know what to think.

I have a history of nocturnal grand mals as a child and complex partials for about the last 5-7 yrs but had not had one in 4ish years I think. Does this sound like seizure activity?

I think the thing that doesn't fit is being coherent while also shaking.

Thanks in advance!

So what does Romans 12:12 have to do with this???? Just out of curiosity? I would like to read up on this myself. So I will.

The dizziness may not be epilepsy related unless it would be a side effect for your meds. I had what I described as unsteady feelings and it continued reappearing and eventually happened for an hour or two. First the doctors thought it was due to my sodium levels being low but after it kept reoccurring for longer periods of time I got set up with an ear nose and throat doctor and did some tests and found out I also have meniers disease, caused by extra fluid in my ears. So if it isn't a side effect. Of your meds you may want to see your general physician or an ENT. Hope that helps you some and that you find a solution soon.:hugs:

Dizziness always has to do with my medicine. So, uhh.. What Jenbayly said. ;)

Since you have a history of seizures I would mention this, and the last thing you wrote about, to your Neurologist.

Thanks everyone for your replies...I wasn't getting email notifications for some reason. I'm seeing my neurologist Jan 2 to discuss. If it was the medicine, then maybe it wasnt the best idea for my dr to have me immediately increase my lamictal haha...but I guess it's just to protect me just in case. I really appreciate all the replies.

Nightowl47: Romans 12:12 is my favorite bible verse: Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.
