Anti Seizure Medications and Employment Drug Testing

G'Day Guys,

I am currently on a number of anti seizure medications at the moment and I very recently had to submit a urine sample for a drug test for the first time. I have never touched an illicit substance in my life. What are the odds of this coming back with a false positive reading?

It is really worrying me because the chance I have been offered will be withdrawn if this comes back positive.

The medications I am on a day are:
Tegratol 2000mg per day
Lamictal 150mg per day
Zonegran 100mg per day

Just don't eat anything with poppy seeds before the test.

How about that, looks like in very rare cases lamictal can cause a false positive on a rapid test drug screen, the longer non rapid tests, do not seem to have this problem.

Congrats on the job. Don't worry about the drug tests. Chances are slim you come up hot with something, but as long as you have the prescription, you're good to go.
