I'm from Canada, is there a way to connect with others from Canada that may be registered on this forum?:e:

Well, utilizing a good thread title helps attract their attention. I changed it for you on this thread. There is a spot in your profile where you can list your location. Adding Canada in there can also help neighbors recognize one another. I know we have many members here who list their location as Canada (or somewhere more specific within). Cheers.

Hi gnault,
My name is Randy from Hamilton, Ontario.

Hi RanMan, As my chosen name suggests, I am from Alberta. Good luck finding more Canadians.

Hey RanMan,
What's your story? How long since you were diagnosed with epilepsy? I believe it was back in 2003/2004 when I was diagnosed with frontal lobe epilepsy disorder. I don't know how long I was having partial seizures, absense seizures. My wife had noticed them for quite a while and then I had a generalized tonic clonic seizure. I keep asking my wife every so often to explain how bad it actually was.

She said it was a major event. Going in and out of seizures for about 10 to 15 minutes until the ambulance arrived. I still have no recollection of my stay at the hospital here in Halifax or transferring to the military hospital. I do remember being told I might have a brain tumor. Luckily I didn't have one, but the journey to try and find out what caused lead no where. I am on medication for the rest of my life as they found what they believe to be scar tissue on my brain and have no idea if that had a part to play in the seizure.

My memory isn't what it should be and I still have muscle jerking motions occasionally. I've been on Dilantin, tegretol (800 mg a day) and now I'm on lamotrigine 150mg twice a day. Luckily I am controlled on only one medication.

Probably about a month ago found myself drifting to the wrong side of the highway without realizing in time not to go in the ditch and nobody was around. It wasn't like I felt the drifting sensation of falling asleep at the wheel. I just hope that was all it was. I'm being more careful with sleep and other controllable things in my life.

My neurologist is a great guy and doctor. Don't see him much as there are not many problems and it can be a long wait time to see him unless an emergency. How is your health care experience where you are at?

Hi gnault,
you can read my story in my bio.

Just go up to the top of this board and hit CONTROL PANEL.
Then on the left hit FRIENDS AND CONTACTS.
Then type in RanMan.

Gnault,

I just thought that it would be easier to just touch my plcture on the left.
