any one experienced aggression after a grand mal?

Last time i had a fit which was brought on what i think was a combo of dehydration maybe low sugar and general exhaustiion. Lucky my gf was she there too look after me and help me back inside. But instead of trying to follow became quite agressive even pushing her and punching her arm... This definately freaked us both out, i dont remember anything except waking up in bed to see her dad looking down at me... (big fella and impressed) .Im not an agressive person and they all know that and willing to try to help out.Any questions, answers or general inquiries or statements would be of great hell.

Hi lucky, I've experienced something similar to that over the years, but only once or twice. The main time I remember is acting pretty much the same with my housemates, when I knew I needed to get to the bathroom- and they were trying to get me to lie down and rest like normal- but obviously hadn't fully 'rebooted' yet, and was still well out of it.

In the end they put me in the bath as it was easier than trying to stop me

Think of it as sleepwalking: Your brain's still mostly switched off, but your body's waking up. This confusion + your instinct for self-protection can lead to the aggressive behavior.

I wondered the same thing. I've come out of seizures and gotten pretty nasty, and then as I start feeling more aware I wonder why I had these reactions. I think the safest thing is to let people know that this can happen, so everyone is aware. Safest thing for you and the people around you.

yeah, buddy had to fight me once after a seizure to keep my pants on.
on of the few times i had a grand mal because i rode my bike down a block
down of cop cars prepping for a parade I was going to take pics for.

I came up with a pretty good analogy the other day - that interfering with someone during a seizure trying to help them is like trying to lasso a passenger on a roller coaster in an attempt to save them. you might get the lasso on them - but it quickly becomes a noose. I'm sorry your girlfriend got some rope burns!
