I've had epilepsy for 35 years, and for the past year became unable to control my seizures. I've had a neurologist that had me on two types of meds, on of which I knew was making me feel horrible but he insisted was right for me. I recently went to an epileptologist--I was rediagnosed with a second epilepsy syndrome, that made it clear that one of those meds was making one type of epilepsy worse, and the second med he kept increasing had been causing electrolyte imbalances, that have in turn been making me sick and making my seizures worse. There is a WORLD of difference, in my experience, and I think many others will echo that opinion. Epileptologists understand epilepsy in a way neurologists do not I think it will very likely be well worth the drive.
