My insurance is only covering my Lamotrigine ER 25%. Retail price is a little over $860 and I am paying $675 a month. I have a high deductible prescription plan and once it is reached, all prescriptions are free. However, I did the math and we probably won't reach the deductible until October.

I am considering calling my insurance company and seeing if I can get them to cover it any more than they are. The medication is obviously medically necessary and I will be taking it for the rest of my life. I don't even want them to fully cover it. I would settle for paying $400 a month for it.

Has anyone ever gone through this process? What did you have to do? How long did it take? What were the results?

Thanks!
