last night I went to bed at around midnight... which is usually later than normal for me. I was quite tired and I felt "off". I pretty much assumed that it was my body's way of saying i needed to get to sleep! So I closed my eyes, and still felt alittle weird... just a unusal feeling I get before a seizure wants to come on. I feel asleep.. and woke up at around 2:30am feeling pain in my lower stomach area. The pain got really intense and my heart would start to beat very fast. I always have the fast beating heart symptom when my seizures start. I get this unusal feeling like something isnt quite right... then other things begin to happen...

but last night my heart began to beat fast... the stomach pain was coming and going. I finally sat up in bed, and trying to get this feeling to go, my body began to stiffin and I knew right then a seizure was going on. I began jerking and I must have fallen to my left, where my husband was laying in bed. he said was awakened to me with my head burried in the pillow, and my body just really stiff. He knew what was going on.

He ran to get the ativan and by the time he got back to the bedroom, I was realizing what had happened. It took me awhile to get the shaky feeling to go away and my heart rate to go down again. But i felt weak and very tired.

Ive had a nausea feeling in my stomach at the start of a seizure, but this was more of a really bad sharp pain that came and went... I just wondered if anyone else here has experienced this?

Thanks! I did do some googling last night, and saw abdominal epilepsy. I was dx'd with left temporal lobe epilepsy when I was 18 months old. So thats one question Im going to have to bring up to my neuro when I see him next.

I had another seizure last night around 2am in the morning. That makes seizures two nights in a row. So I contacted the neuro's office and left a message for the nurse to contact me. Now its just a wait and see game.

I have not had tonic/clonic seizure, but I get stomach pains I guess as part of the aura's that I have. I've even thrown up a few times. The pain last about an hour but the sick to the stomach feeling last longer, of course other things are taking place, like seeing color shapes, smells, ringing ears,
confusion, staring, etc...

I told dr about it, he said he didnt think it was associated with seizures, but that it could be.

One of my auras makes me feel like a puky pete.

I get extremely nauseous after a TC; To the point that instinctively my body won’t let me lay on my back. One time that didn’t fly with the EMTs and after much fighting I ended up getting strapped down to the gurney… but if you don’t remember it, it didn’t happen, right?

Hopefully it was a fluke/breakthrough and everything will go back to normal. :)

Well I phoned my drs office today and spoke with the nurse. She said she would be meeting with the dr later today and would get back to me. I went with my husband to the store, and as I was walking, I got the funny feeling again, and this time felt nausea, and my heart began to beat fast again. I had to sit down and relax to see if the feeling would go. It took me a few minutes, but I focused on something and the jerking and stiffening didnt come on. Im at home now, and can barely keep my eyes open. Im so tired, and my head just kills me.

Well, I heard back from the neuro's office....

they said they dont want to mess with my dose of Keppra xr right now. But did say it could be due to the stress, lack of sleep, or any virus's going around. So, in the meantime, if anything more does come about, to contact them... but their recommendations is to take it easy for the next 48 hours. So, Im going to try my best to do this... at least my husband is home tomorrow from work! :) So that helps!

Nausea and tachycardia can both be simple partials.. Hope you can shake whatever it is off...

Nakamova... thanks so much if I have not thanked you before on this. Seems like I read this before on CWE and never really put it together. Usually a few times a month while relaxing in the evening laying on the sofa half asleep, I have tachycardia..know it is happening but seem to not be able to sit up, wake-up, or anything and never put it together with a type of simple partials. Went to my PCP to check heart a few years ago when going through menopause and having increased seizure activity and everything was fine. Geez, once again I am enlightened by everyone here at CWE.

I've had that happen to me as well, no jerking, but very stiff, as if entire body had stretched and afterwards it felt like I had swam a million miles, extremly tired.
