IT=Information technology.

Personnaly i work as a pc-tech\network-tech and soon finish my certifications of microsoft network administrator.I was wondering if there are anyone here that work in those fields.

I like it but i think that its not the best proffesion a person can have since you got to have a top notch cognitive functions,long working hours and a lot of stress.

For now i don't have all of those since im really minor in my job but if ill ever move to another place and as a sys admin i wonder how would it be like.

I think that would depend on your Epilepsy. I don't work in IT. I'm a teacher so I need top notch cognitive functions, and it's not strange to have children having complete meltdown with tables flying around the room so I deal with a lot of stress sometimes too. When you take into account all the planning and preparation that is involved there are long hours too. While I do feel a bit dumber I guess on medication at this point my Epilepsy is controlled and I've had no drama. But, someone else may not be as lucky and may not be able to cope with long hours and stress etc.
I guess you won't really know unless you give it a go, working with computers I'd be more worried about being photosensitive? I hope looking at a computer screen all day doesn't trigger any seizures.
But, as I said you won't know unless you actually try. How are you coping with what you are doing at work now? Thinking about how you're coping now, before you've got any real stress may be a good indicator of how you'll be later.

Well i work 4 years already as a pc-tech.The seizures never bothered me and the only reason i take medication is because i want to drive.As soon as i toke keppra 250mg pill i din't have seizures the next day even when i sti all day in front of computer on 500mg a day im already controlled especially if i sleep well.Still i will ask my doctor to raise it to 1000mg a day becasue its the minimum recommended and i want to feel safer when it will come to driving.

I cope really good actually,i coped pretty bad the first 4 years since iv been given a drug which aggravated my seizures than i was 1 year on a drug that din't do anything than 2 years without drugs which was pretty good.now when i take keppra its actually stops the seizures and the fear i used to have before a seizure so i cope really good,except some side effects.

Im just afraid i will be less good than some proffesionals because im medicated altough keppra doesn't really effect cognitive functions as long as i can tell.

And im already trying but i guess the only difference is that i have less stress at my current job and im sure i will have much more.Don't care about the seizure even if it will happen,im just afraid that if i'll have a licence and it will happen ill be worried.altough it will NEVER happen outside when not infront of a computer or any other high contrast light directed in my face for couple of hours even when i wasn't on medication.
