I have been away awhile I just got into to see my epilogist after having a couple of nocturnal Grand Mal seizures the last two weeks. I have been on a combination of Lamictal 600mg and Keppra 2000mg, since these do not seem to be doing the job he wants to put me on a aptiom trial as well as give me something called a Embrace seizure watch is anybody familiar with them ?I am afraid that I might be on too much medication

Over the past few weeks my daughter has been having her Keppra reduced and lamictal increased - so far so good with much fewer focals and no tonic Clonics at all.

That is great I have had better results with lamictal I think the side effects of Keppra outweigh the benefits for a lot of people they have used it for a adjunct for me.

Yes my daughter had awful mood swings with Keppra and said she thought having the occasional Tonic Clonic would probably be better than feeling so miserable all the time. The reduction of Keppra and increasing addition of Lamictal has been done slowly over three months but she says at last she's beginning to feel a bit like her 'old self' again - plus she hasn't had a focal in over three weeks now and used to have them two or three times a week.
Good luck with what you try and it could be that reducing the Keppra and increasing the Lamictal might be worth a try for you instead of using a different drug. I know everyone responds differently but it may be worth looking in to.
