I have epilepsy and haven't had a seizure in 2 1/2 years, and haven't had an episode in about 1 1/2 years. Today at the routine doctors appointment, they performed an in office EEG, just the short one where you breathe heavily and they flash some lights. Outside the office, the nurse told the doctor there were two rare spikes during the EEG, but they aren't too big of a concern. During the appointment, my doctor never even brought up anything about it and said everything's good. My question though is if this is typical, and really not a concern?

My seizures are fully-controlled by meds, but an EEG last year showed some minimal spike/wave activity. My neuro has no worries about this and neither do I. Even perfectly healthy people can occasionally produce unusual EEGs. It can vary from person to person depending on seizure history, but basically if you aren't having any clinical symptoms, then it's not a cause for concern.

My daughters eeg abnormal going by her tests she should be really unwel but she has no sz or anything so her medications were stopped years ago
