If anyone were around just now - me doing your excersizes they might think I'm going through some kind of episode or something! Interesting excersizes!

I'm a righty with one exeption: My left eye does the winking. I tried it with my right and both eyes immediately closed.

"Leftys are usually visual simultaneous and rightys are usually linear sequential thinkers"

I am not a linear sequential thinker even though I'm a righty. However, I am a linear sequential thinker when it comes to "structuring" prose or verse. (The misnomer is that all right brained persons think less logically. The left brain is used more than people think when creating a work of art.)

occb, I know you and Rae are writers but had no idea that you're both musical as well!

I can't even whistle!

I can't even whistle either  I'm only a beginner at bass and harmonica, and I never got that advanced at flute when I was younger. Audio stimulation has never been as important to me as visual stimulation. I used to have near perfect recall when I was younger for things I consciously saw or read, but I couldn't piece together what someone had told me, and sung lyrics often confused me. Still, when I concentrate, I seem to have a knack for making music. Weird.

Nope, can't whistle either. but i can make a loon and wolf call with my hands. I do have a near perfect recall when it comes to random things. like remembering where something is from a month ago, or remembering hwy we were holding on to customer paperwork,a nd where it could have gone if we thik we lost it. I've got a really good visual photographic memory. ask me to remember numbers or something by telling me, I'll forget. but write it down and let me read it, i'll be fine.

Can you actually "see" your thoughts too Rae? The best way I can describe it -- it's almost like those see-through computer screens that they have on sci-fi shows where you touch the screen to make the info you want pop up.

Hmm, I can't whistle either (though I have no problem playing sax and clarinet). I wonder how many folks on CWE can't whistle...

Yeah...a "Can you Whistle?" poll. I heard that whistling uses parts of your brain rarely used to make the lips, tounge and cheeks move in sequence. Maybe more people lack that than I thought.

I also can't whistle as I have my tounge peirced. it gets in the way, so it just ends up blowing spit everywhere when I try.. eeww goobers...

Glad to know I'm not the only one going through the randomly bored stage today!
I'm right handed, to the point of being next to use-less with my left. I hear you there Buckeye! I did the test you put up occb and found that the only things I did with my left was listen and wink. Turns out I can't wink with my right eye... weird...
I can whistle but as mentioned before I can't carry a tune if you gave me a bucket so its more of a high pitched squealing noise (think torturing baby pigs:roflmao:) than a musical thing.

BTW when truly bored found this place http://www.stumbleupon.com

I sometimes see my thoughts. if i'm just thinking like I am now while typing. saying in my head what i am typing as im typing it is normal. but if I really need to sit down and think hard about something *right now its rental car insurance* I close my eyes and I actually see what you talk about. having a "visual" checklist infront of my eyes for things i need. or if I need to work out some math problems and I don't have a pen or things around Its almost like a blackboard in my head. if I think it it shows up

All I can say is yes, yes, and yes. Same here.

EDIT: If I'm really intensely thinking about something or running through scenarios in my head, I can do it with my eyes open too.

Oh, yes! Let's start a thread Is whistling an aura? That would certainly get people's attention.

If, let's say, I'm in the waiting room ready to meet the rental insurance representative, I'll have absolutely no thoughts concerning the matter. But once in the office, out of my mouth comes the pertanent, very salient questions. I know this sounds strange but it has to do with my Dissociative Condition. There are aspects of myself who hold different data for me. Actually, a gift that comes along with the territory. A very handy thing!

Let's start a thread I don't think therefore I speak Everyone will think we're getting into Descartes!

How about "I don't think, therefore 1 am" :)

lol
how about just "I think, therefore I don't remember"? that happens to me too.

Laurie, is that disorder something like the correct words and thought process you may need are not there at the time in need, but later that day everything comes to you clear as a bell. Only thing is that place in time has passed. This happens to me very often at work. It is like I can't remember how to design an hvac system. I get all nervous like I will be fired because for the life of me I can't find the knowledge I know I have. Then as I am going to sleep or something the very knowledge I searched for is right there in front of me, and I do believe I can see it sometimes. I often dream of work and will sort out some problems via my inner voice. I AM SO HAPPY I AM NOT NORMAL!

It's not necessarily as long as the end of the day. It's at the time, anytime, where there's a sense of urgency which needs to be handled and swiftly.

I often dream of work and will sort out some problems via my inner voice.

I think this happens because our nerves have quieted down after a long day. In the sleep stage many brilliant people have problem solved. Like Singer who dreamt, problem solving which side of the needle needed to be up in order for his sewing machine to work.

I AM SO HAPPY I AM NOT NORMAL!

Normal is vanilla and I like Rocky Road!!! Now, do you sleep on your left or right side?! I'm a righty!

well, I toss and turn throughout the night. One time before taking an exam in college I tossed and turned so violently that I popped my kneck. I could not move. I had turned over very quickly but my head stayed on the pillow and I came out of the bed a foot or so. Then tried to get up and I could not move. The grandmother I was staying with thought I was faking so I laid in bed for hours before going to the hospital. I actually threatened to call my mom. lol

I have never been able to wink my right eye without closing my left eye. I also tend to talk out of the side of my mouth, which many friends find amusing.
