First time for me... Anyone else?

Went to doctors office yesterday... was sitting in the waiting room and I had a complex partial seizure! Good thing they knew who I was cause when the nurse called me I was not totally back and I just stared at her. She looked at me a waved for me to come, got me in the room and by the time the doctor came in I was back... kind of. I had a semi problem speaking and was not totally sure what to do... not sure if I was embarrassed with my post seizure speech problem or just not really remembering what I should be telling the doctor, but after he had looked over my last visit and we talked about things better or not, he asked "is there anything else you need to talk about?" My answer was something like, "n n no, I am am o o ok." And I left never mentioning my increase seizure problems... or the one in his office.

This has just been bugging me all day. When I went to go see "my wacko head" doctor (psychiatrist) and I told her about this, she was just in shock, and for the first time, she scolded me! I really should go back to his office and tell them about what I didn't mention yesterday. Guess I will do that tomorrow... maybe :ponder:

sorry to hear that, and it happened to me several times .

One note is to try to remember to write down little notes to take with you.
even if you don't recall all the time you might recall your notes at times. just a thought.
I use index cards for notes....

If it was a neuro, why couldn't they tell you were having issues? Are they even paying attention?

Unfortunately for me, it was not my neurologist, just my family doctor. After I was at home for a day and back to normal (so to speak), I felt guilty that my mind was too far out after the seizure that I didn't even think of telling him about it. I called my doctor back but he was on vacation, I talked to the nurse... she called him to see if he wanted me to come back... I believe he was a bit upset and they called me back stating he wants me to come see him again next week. :|

Oops, bye drivers license, but i knew I was going to be losing it again when the seizures started back out of control.

Rich956, thanks for the suggestion, "to remember to write down little notes to take with you"

I appreciate the idea and will certainly be trying harder than how I get it done in my normal day. You also mentioned "you might recall your notes at times" and that is such a good point for me to really try and keep in my mind.
