My pshyc dr. recently started me on Abilify, along with my Keppra and prozac. I started my first dose two nites ago, a half a pill for starters.everything was fine until i started getting very strange dreams and feeling unbalanced.in the morning i was getting sick and had sinus pressure pain, sounds like a cold i thought but ive never been sick like this along with other strange feelings i opted to stop taking it until i talk to my dr. about this. i feel better now, but what a scarey ride. has any one had bad results from Abilify.?:ponder:

Rich,

I've never taken Abilify, but I did take Zyprexa, another anti-psychotic drug. I did cause me to have those strange dreams. It also caused Type 1 diabetes for me, as can several of those newer anti-psychotic drugs:

From www.drugs.com:
What is Abilify?

Abilify (aripiprazole) is an antipsychotic medication. It works by changing the actions of chemicals in the brain.

Abilify is used to treat the symptoms of psychotic conditions such as schizophrenia and bipolar disorder (manic depression). It is also used together with other medications to treat major depressive disorder in adults.

Abilify may cause you to have high blood sugar (hyperglycemia). Talk to your doctor if you have any signs of hyperglycemia such as increased thirst or urination, excessive hunger, or weakness. If you are diabetic, check your blood sugar levels on a regular basis while you are taking Abilify
