Im on 300mg trileptal and 1000mg keppra, coming off keppra and titrating up on trileptal, but now that im not on a therapeutic dose of anything till my trileptal goes up monday i am having breakthrough seizures like mad, i thought the keppra wasnt that good for seizure control but turns out it was, my gp put me on xanax for them, the neuro nurse said they would go away soon but its so annoying, 3 simple partials in the last hour. anyone got any ideas to minimise them. i have 2 xanax left so that will see me through tomorrow maybe. also the weather is really hot here and trileptal is giving me hot flashes, i feel like im having menopause and im a man. feeling a little miserable this evening, just sweating and seizing and sweating some more. i have to laugh though, just had an absence seizure now, i only know the the tv is on in the backgound and i show ive seen was coming to an end but now a new show has started, time lapse? seizuriffic brain?

Best I can suggest to you as someone who does not like to deal with heat is do your best to get out of the heated elevation. In other words, if you have the ability to get into an area that is cooler do so. If you have the ability to obtain a fan then borrow one from a family member or a friend and sit in front of it so it is directly blowing on you.

Something else that will help, drink a lot of ice water as it will keep your system cooled down. Another thing that will help is to have a cool rag near by and use it to wipe your forehead, arms, and legs while sitting in front of the fan. The coldness from the rag will help cool your skin and feeling the air blow onto your skin will also help keep you cool. When we have had hot weather here in the Mid West, I have done this a few times and it has worked quite well to keep me cool on the high heated days.

thanks guys, im sure it will all pan out, its just very annoying at times, i had gotten so used to not having much seizure activity that when it broke though it was a shock, i had forgotten what it used to be like.
@ suebear. im sitting directly in front of a fan with a big glass of cold water right now, and later will be spending the afternoon in an airconditioned cinema. i always try and escape the heat when i can and minimize its effects.

I am happy you can get away from the heat.
