I need to talk... my Neur. office called last week telling my calicum levels are low. I already get my calicum at a compounding phar.
I have not had any problems with just it, but when extra capsule was added I have been having seizures.

I have tried over the counter calicum but all of those caused seizures for me.

I sorry if I'm not making sense, when I have seizures a fear comes over me and this is making me feel panic-ee.

Calcium is absorbed best with Vitamin D and Magnesium -- so those three are often bundled together in supplement form. Are you getting all three together? That might help.

Another thought: Is there any way you can increase the calcium in your diet, as opposed to through an addl. supplement? In addition to dairy, foods that can boost calcium are the "cabbage-y" ones -- bok choy, cauliflower, broccoli, brusselsprouts, etc. Foods to avoid are tea and red wine, and anything that's high in sodium.

Again Thank you Nak. for your time and reply.

I do take magnesium and Vit. D.

I am going to do as you advised and get calicum in foods.

I went on the Internet and found where calicum can bring on partial seizures, I'm sorry I could not understand all the language in the artical.

I feel bad to complain I have it so much better than so many on this forum, but when My seizures come it's the fear that starts to take over me.

I was beginning to think I could start coming off my meds. slowly I just need to watch my trigger, but when I think I know all my triggers another comes up. So I know I will have to stay on meds.

Sorry for my rambling on, I just need someone to talk to.

Again I thank you.

It is complicated. Calcium plays an important role in the brain, helping the neurons to communicate. But in very high amounts, coupled with too much glutamate in the brain, calcium can contribute to overstimulating the neurons.

Since you have a calcium deficiency, you have a low amount of calcium in your system, and it's very unlikely that calcium is causing seizures for you.
