can a simple dentist appointment set off a seizure?

i have been off my meds because i am trying to get pregnant for a few months now. since being off of them all its like my body is hyper aware or something. like back before i even started taking them. i went to an amusement park and couldnt go on ANY of the rides because even the smallest made me feel like i was about to have a seizure. my ears have gotten back to being super sensitive. i think loudness is a trigger that was nvr diagnosed. so now i've got a dentist appointment coming up with my new dentist and im wondering if the pain of the cavity being drilled and the sound of the drill in my mouth will set me off. he knows i have epilepsy but i dont think they can do anything to hinder a seizure that might be set off by a simple teeth drilling. during the cleaning i started to feel plenty out of it and that was just the cleaning lol. i think i may be doomed for this nxt appointment. anyone else have a problem with fighting off seizures in the dentists chair??

Yup. Ask for a prescription for Ativan (Lorazepam). It is commonly used for anxiety and to prevent/stop seizures.

Valium might work too. And you don't have to take much -- 1/2 to 1 pill should be enough to relax you and make you less sensitive.

The difference between Lorazapam and Diazapam,is that Lorazapam is a quicker acting benzo compared to Diazapam,which stays in your body a lot longer,so perhaps Lorazapam would be a better bet.

You may be right Neil. I was given 1/2 a valium when I had laser eye surgery (and hadn't even asked for it, that was just standard policy), and it kicked in pretty quickly.

think i mightve had something similar during an upper endoscopy but it did kick on a seizure so then again it couldnt have been the lorazepam. mustve been valium
