My dr is taking me off Carbotral ER, and I have a bottle that I opened, but never used. Anyone know what to do with it? I hate to just throw it out....

I know in the Canada you can bring them back to the pharmacy & they will properly dispose of it.

I would think the pharmacist would know the best way of disposing of them even they don't dispose of the meds themselves

My metro area recommends tossing them in a bag with used kitty litter, or something equally disgusting, and tossing it in the trash. My pharmacy takes back unused drugs, but not many here do.

My doctor suggested to my dad (He's diabetic and on meds for a ton of other stuff) that he get a bucket or a bowl, dissolve the meds in water in it and then just pour it away. The chemist's can't use the meds again even if the pack is unopened, so there's not much point in returning them.

i gave unopened bottles back to my neuro so that he could give it to people who cant afford it
