Hi guys, I have Simple partial Seizure since 8 years. it is under control unless i forget to take my medications. I like video games alot. i've been playing it form 6 -7 years. I had no problem while playing video games. Now I'm thinking... excessive Video game playing might be the one of the reason that i'm still having seizure !! can some one clear my doubts !! this was bothering me from couple of weeks so i quit playing.. waiting for your advice..

Sometimes I think.. i'm 26 now.. it should be the right to quit video games !!! but I really like to play . anyway.. what you guys think about it !!!!

I play a video game every once in a blue mood! LOL But I also have simple partial seizures and it doesnt cause me to have a seizure while playing a video game. But then, I am not playing them all the time!

i'm sure you can play them, but you should have a break from the screen after about 30 mins just to be safe.

Everyone has different triggers -- if you notice that you have simple partials after playing a lot of video games, then that answers your question. (It can help to keep a seizure diary, so you can track seizures and identify triggers and patterns).

Looking at a monitor can affect sleep, so it's a good idea to stop your computer usage at least half an hour before you go to bed. That gives your eyes and brain some needed transition time.

i do on rare occasion these days, you can actully build a tolerance to them if you are willing to, but i do not say you should

Certain games seem to be harder to play then others. Though I think if your seizures are fairly well under control and you don't play for to long you should be ok. When I started feeling better I was able play video games ok. Just had to take periods of time to rest my brain.

I like video games, but I've noticed some hit harder than others (are you photosensitive?) I've learned what I can and can't play. Keep a seizure diary to see if you get more during/after gaming
