That was what I was thinking, but it seems like the flicker wouldn't be enough. My son, 3, completely spaced out staring at a candle. Unresponsive until we moved him and blew out the candles. He was slow to start talking again, didn't want to eat breakfast after, and in general it was unusual. He has a history of febrile seizures, and my 7 year old daughter has epilepsy that shows in sensory, feelings, sensations.
