Has anyone had any experience with chamomile? Your comments please? thanks!

It's a good general relaxant. Helpful if you have trouble getting to sleep. Tasty too.

One word of caution is that it is estrogenic. I stay away from it due to a history of breast cancer.

Chamomile tea is generally considered safe for folks with seizure disorders. Since chamomile can make you sleepy, keep that in mind if you are also taking meds that have a similar effect. As always, if you're not sure how you might react to a new substance, start small and go slow.

I like chamomile. I also got some chamomile and lavender tea that I like. I got some really good whole flower chamomile from www.capitalteas.com.

I was at the store looking for some tea to calm me down at night, and noticed that some of the chamomile mixes also have valerian, including "Sleepytime Extra", or "Super Sleepytime", or "Sleepytime Knock-you-out-like-a-light-on-a-dark-night", or whatever it's called. Regular Sleepytime doesn't have it. I looked it up and valerian might be bad for seizures. (Apparently it's anti-epileptogenic, so the danger would be when it wears off.) I haven't had it though.

Valerian has a sedative effect similar to that of chamomile, so I think it's no more likely to cause withdrawal seizures unless you're consuming it in enormous quantities. It's in my "SuperSnooze" supplement (ingredients = Ca, Mg,Valerian Root, Hops, Scullcap, Chamomile, Passion Flower, Inositol, L-Taurine, Melatonin*), and I haven't had any issues with it. However, it's always a good idea to be cautious when trying something new, esp. supplements.

*people with nocturnal seizures should avoid taking melatonin.

If i remember right, chamomile was what my mom used on us when we were young and started to come down with a sore throat or cold. She would have use inhale the vapors of it after it boiled. It smelled so divine.
