Well, it looks like I'll be having to change insurance companies soon... :(

The district where I work have 2 different plans, and the one I'm on is going to be hiking it's rates up by 12%... :( The other plan is Kaiser, of which my Neuro is not a part. :( I knew I'd have to change docs soon (my neuro is in his 70's) but I didn't want to have to rush it. :(

So sympathetic.

My plan just raised its rates by a HUGE amount. In the last two years it's gone from $6000 yr. to $8000 yr. Not fun for a self-employed person. In order to stay with my docs and not run out of money entirely, I've switched to a plan with enormous deductibles. Fingers-crossed that I don't have anything other than office visits in the next year.

I was checking to see my options....had a nice agent helping me...found out my plan costs me the same amount whether it's just me or the entire family.... :P He suggests I stick with what I have as long as possible. Finding an insurance company that will take me with a preexisting, and provide same coverage? Impossible... current per month cost? $1200...
