I am having some complicated foot surgery in April. Is it likely that my neuro will increase any of my meds for a short time? I see her Feb 17 so we will discuss it then but I thought maybe some have you have been through this and wondered what your doctors did.

I've had a lot of surgeries since having E and the docs have never raised my doses. They are super careful about making sure you don't skip a dose while in a pain-med haze.

I hope your foot surgery goes well and heals up quickly.

I had surgery once since epilepsy started. The nurses just made sure the bed rails were up at all times and that there were bed rail pads strapped on. Definitely no medication increase since some of the anti-seizure medications - particularly the older ones, I think - can cause complications with anesthetic (depressed respiration, etc.)
