OK, remember I am new at this..just recently diagnosed. I have SP and CP..no TC thankfully...crosses fingers.

Two new things:

Woke up in middle of night.. could not sleep. While watching TV I smelled a chocolatey smell..then it was more like cocoa. I muted the TV to pay attention and it was gone.

Then yesterday I smelled a horrible, burnt like smell. Thinking it was the food I had just heated up. Smelled it twice then it went away in kitchen. But later smelled it on my bathrobe again. Nothing followed..a little spacey but nothing else.

Lastly, During the night I woke up with both my fists clenched..and could not open them up for a couple of seconds. Also noticed my arms hurt and were deflated as if all the energy was gone. Now I do have a kidney problem that causes this deflated feeling too. But when I was walking to the bathroom, felt really worn down..but then I have MS too.. geez.

Could clenched fists be a sign?? I know the smells are..but then nothing else happened along with the smells..does it follow or smell is the end of sz?

Help me figure this out please

Jan

Hi Jan...for me the smell IS the seizure. Not sure what is going on today...been having them all morning and now I have a headache which seems to be getting worse:( Nothing ever follows the smell that I can recollect. I've just started paying attention to them though so not sure I'm much help. I'm pretty sure its possible to get the smell as an aura before a complex-partial though...it might be something to mention to your doctor.

Hi, Jan,

The smells are a seizure. I bet the clenched fists are, too. Keep a record of it all (seizure diary), and tell your doc.
