...Or am I just over-thinking things? I have about 4 different types of seizures, and I'm confident I didn't have a t/c in my sleep, I'm just wondering if maybe I could have had one of my partials.

So, knock on wood, my seizure control as of the last few weeks has been pretty good. Even my auras have been milder (though present more than I would like.)

However, early this morning around 5, my boyfriend had gotten up to take one of the dogs out (she was sick,) and the noise woke me. Once I'm up, it's usually nearly impossible for me to fall back asleep, but I knew I had to try or I'd be screwed into a terrible day today. I went out to the couch to go back to sleep because the heat in the bedroom gets ridiculously high at night, and finally got back to sleep around 6-ish, I think, cramped up into an odd position, with a 55 lbs. dog trying to snuggle up to me, yet managing to take up the entire couch at the same time (and I'm 5'10", so it was a tight fit!)

Once I did fall asleep, I had a weird dream that was quite disjointed, and felt a little like I feel after having a seizure. It was uncomfortable, and a little bit head-achy, and I remember thinking in the dream "I must be having a seizure," which I realize now should most likely have been "Oh I just had a seizure." I had the thought a couple of times in the dream, which eventually became a more connected dream that made sense, and lacked a headache.

Could this have been a seizure, or was I probably just severely uncomfortable cramped up on the couch and over tired?

I know I'm not giving very good descriptions here, I guess I just want to know if there's any way to tell if you've had a nocturnal partial, because there's no real tell-tale signs, like bitten tongues or achy bodies, or what have you.

Thanks!
Sarah

sounds liking you were dreaming about having a seizure. Nocturnal T/Cs are pretty pronounced. Bitten tongue, disorientation, realllly tired. I am not familiar with other types of nocturnal ones, only the T/C variety. Perhaps partials do happen when one is asleep, just do not know for sure. I have the aforementioned, so am well aqainted with.

Yes, it's possible as I have nocturnal complex partials. I wake up sometimes with a headache (not your normal headache). Once in a while I'm aware that I'm actually in the seizure, which is strange but only happens once in a while. Since you do have E it's very possible, but perhaps it was nothing more than a dream.

Hi,

Your experience sounds to me like a very vivid dream as well. I too experience seizures at night and during the day. The ones at night, depending on how violent they are, I will wake up with them. They are usually tonic clonic's. The complex partial usually don't wake me up. My husband usually tells me about them in the morning. He'll say something like do you remember doing such and such last night in your sleep and I'll reply no! It is really strange but you get use to it.
