Did you take Valproate (Depakote or Valproic Acid) During Pregnancy?

Have you thought about whether this medication may have affected your child?

The Pediatric Genetics Unit at Massachusetts General Hospital for Children is studying the effects of prenatal exposure to valproate. We are currently looking for healthy children whose mothers took valproate while pregnant with them.

Qualifications include:
Children and adolescents 2 to 16 years old who were exposed to valproate at any point during pregnancy.

Study participation involves:
• One questionnaire administered over the telephone.
• One in-person visit with physicians and experts at our clinic at no charge.
• One saliva sample obtained by cheek swab or saliva spit cup.
• Other developmental assessments or evaluations may be requested.

Reimbursement :
• All travel expenses will be reimbursed.
• Every participant will receive $50 for his/her participation. Participants who come for a full-day visit will receive $100 for participation.

To contact, please call Hanah Nasri at (617) 726-1745 or send me a PM.

Thank you
