Hello All!

Does anyone have a good link to explain the different seizures? I notice people use terms like partial and tonic clonic etc. What do all these mean? I asked my Neuro and he said I had frontal lobe epilepsy with pedimal seizures. Does this fit into any of the terminology used here so often in the forum. I am recently diagnosed. I thought my seizures were episodes of vertigo and blood sugar problems. I also thought I was feeling so weird because I have such a low blood pressure. NO....SEIZURES! Never would have thought it. When I had my 20 min EEG I was having a consistent seizure. I finally got a diagnosis. I was feeling like that for a year. This forum has been great for me.

This site may help. What your doctor described was 'petit mal' (pronounced pedi mal) which is also known as a partial seizure. Trixie how everything has multiple names isn't it?

There are some fantastic question answerers that frequent this site. Don't hesitate to ask if any more questions come up. It can be totally overwhelming sorting through the crazy world of seizure disorders. It certainly isn't simple or straightforward as far as medical conditions go.

Welcome to the forum! This is a great group of people in here. I'm glad you found us.

I am so sorry to hear about your seizures. The period after first diagnosis is pretty life-altering. I was pretty confused, and pretty scared. Then shifted into the learning mode and have kind of stayed there. There is so much info out there.

Three of my favorite sites for epilepsy information are:

They have lists of types of seizures, among much more info about epilepsy. Google is a great resource too. Google "epilepsy" and you'll get pages and pages of useful links.
