This kind of goes hand in hand with a previous question. I probably should have thought to ask them at the same time, but I didn't. So, what are the consequences of missing a dose or two? For me it's pretty inconsequential. As long as I don't miss a bunch in a row it generally doesn't matter. I won't have a seizure because of it or if I do I contribute it to the fact I hadn't had a seizure in a while and it was just bad timing.

I've never had a seizure after missing a dose of medicine when I was properly taking it. Honestly I can't think of any problems I have actually had when missing a dose. I have missed doses when I was on Keppra. Now that I'm on Keppra and Vimpat, I have not missed any doses.

Time for my meds. :)

I usually take my lamictal at 6 am and 6 pm. There have been times when I have a mild partial seizure at 730 or 8 pm, and I realize I had not taken the 6 pm dose. I really don't know if missing the med causes that. I don't think it would, and I have lots of partial seizures, but I still run for the dose anyhow.

I try very hard not to miss a dose. I don't get partials or warnings, just the full-on tonic-clonics, so I really don't want to risk anything happening. Lamictal has a decent half-life which helps. I also take the 25mg-size pills, so if I suspect I've missed a dose, I can space out my next dose and start taking it a little early if I'm nervous.

I have not completely missed a dose (ie. not taken it at all) often enough to know how much of a seizure trigger it would be. Sometimes I have had a seizure and sometimes not. If I am late with a dose I take it as soon as I can but if I am as much as 6 hours late (seldom), I just adjust the dose and don't take as much of it in hopes that it will carry me through and not cause a problem. Again, sometimes I will have a problem and sometimes not. I really think it depends whether there is co-occurrence with other triggers, not just the missed medication in itself.

I very rarely miss a dose. And when I do realize I missed it it's not until it's time to take my next dose. If I do miss only one I'm usually fine.

There was a time that I missed 2 in a row. Don't know how I managed to do that? I did have a seizure then.

I get really jerky and slurry if I am lucky and have a tonic clonic if I am unlucky.
