Okay, while I was teaching some adolescents, this happened: during my lesson on World War One, I started talking about...my PERIOD. I don't know what I said, probably just, "my period." I wasn't even aware I did it, but one of my students said, Miss, why are you talking about your period? I covered it up, probably badly, by claiming that I was discussing historical periods!

The kids weren't really laughing (although it does sound funny). They just looked puzzled.

This was actually several years ago, and I mostly forgot about it, because other things like that have happened to me. For example, writing something down on the chalkboard that wasn't what I intended?

I am usually a very good teacher, providing my students a strong education. I promise! But does that sound E-related? I hope so, otherwise I think I suffer from some weird mental lapses.

Also, I will not be offended if anyone giggles at the story above. It is, indeed, weird.

I had a pretty large seizure in class once. Since it was a medical course the teacher used it as an example to show people what to expect during a seizure & how to handle it.

I was later told that I said "I love you" to the teacher. I had no memory of this but a few weeks later it sort of came back & I thought I tried to say "Thank you".

That was the final class with that teacher of the year so I never got to apologise.

I know during/after some of the stronger seizures I get, I'll think I'm saying something & it will either be something totally different, sometimes it makes sense and sometimes it doesn't.

Other times I just can't talk at all after a seizure.

I'm the same,

Sometimes when I have a complex partial when I am with someone I will say something but what comes out of my mouth isn't what I meant to say. Usually the person I am with is either my parents or my friends who have seen me take a few partials so know it is a seizure. I wouldn't usually remember what I said so I usually have to go by what my parents or friends have witnessed.

It's great to get feedback like this! I half expected nobody to respond, since what I described seemed so strange.

I usually have an aura before a complex seizure. If I am with someone & feel an aura come on I will think to myself "OK, try not to say anything, try to act normal so I don't worry the person". It never turns out that way because I usually end up saying something which is stranger or if I have a complex partial I will do weird things lol.
Even though my parents or friends worry when they see me have a complex partial they are also used to the weird things I might say or do.

My complex-partials almost always have a verbal component. Sometimes I'll really freak out people because it's possible to talk in multiple voices, and I tend to do that... :?

Look up "Mongolian Throat Singing" to hear what multiple voices sound like... haha
