Yes, i Have another question (sorry in advance!)

I am booked in to have an EEG on June 11th and am currently on 150mg lamotrigine a day (slowly working up to 200mg)
Will this effect the EEG results? :ponder:

The answer is...maybe. When I was on a therapeutic dose of anti-seizure meds, my EEG came up normal. I was then starting to taper off the meds, so when I was at half my therapeutic dose I had another EEG done, and it did pick up abnormal activity. I have the kind of epilepsy where there is a very recognizable abnormal pattern even when you're not in the midst of a seizure.

Unfortunately though, there can be a wide variation in EEG results: There can be folks that are on anti-seizure meds and they still show seizure activity on the EEG. There can be folks who are clearly having seizures who produce normal EEGs.

Ahhh its so confusing. Going to try and not overthink it and just show up for the appointments and see what turns up.
Thank you for replying - you are always so full of info!

Add it to the list of questions for your neurologist...
