Epilepsy and Tinnitus?

Hey everyone.. it's been a long time. Hope everyone is doing well.

My long term seizures are doing well, but I've developed tinnitus. I've read that it can be a long term side effect of Lamotrigine, which I've been on for 21 years. Has anyone else heard of this?

I don't want to have to change meds now that I'm doing well..

I've been on Lamotrigine for 15+ years. I also have constant tinnitus.
I have never read anything about a link, but will now look more. I think I had the tinnitus long before the Lamo.

I have Tinnitus, not sure of the reason as was given treatment when 13 with that as a side effect (but also abused hearing thru my teens and twenties going to rock concerts without earplugs), Did look into about a decade ish ago but can't tell/understand whether it was permanent or not, but looking at the medication I take they are all oxotoxic - so have learnt to live with it - Look into this book below - good ideas but also could just be s**t happeneds and you happen to have developped Tinnitus due to lifestyle choice (the enviroment you spend alot of time in)

Very interesting to read this. I have been on lamotrigine for about 12 years. I have had tinnitus about 4 years. Recently adding a new medication for me to start using, if the seizures quit, i will ask if I could try to quit taking lamotrigine!
