I have started a blog that will documenting my husband's and my journey to parenthood while dealing with epilepsy.

I'm hoping that it helps some people.

Side note: I'm on the second week of my medication change from Carbamazepine to Lamictal and I'm experiencing some crazy side effects. I have felt like I'm going to lose my stomach everywhere all morning.

You may want to go in smaller doses to minimize side effects during the transition. What dose/taper/ramp up schedule are you on?

She is having me up the medication 50mgs at a time. I'm taking Lamictal 25mgs, 2 pills 2x/daily this week. It'll be upped 50mg next week and so on until I reach 350 mgs.

Ask her about going at 25 mg increments, and staying at each level for 2 weeks before moving up to the next. When I transitioned onto Lamictal, my neurologist even had me slice the 25mgs in half and go up by 12mg increments.

Ah a fellow Penn State alum. '07 grad here.

Unless it's Portland State, then oops sorry.
