i have both peti and grand and one may roll right into the other. my petis consist of a numb feeling in my hands and face usually acompanied by that feeling you get by being spun around too fast. i get kinda that "aura" feeling that alot of people talk about and time seems to turn into "tv time" you know where two minutes takes ten minutes to play out. i use to not have any notice that my grands where coming till recently because until recently they were nocturnal seizures. they recently turned into awake seizures, and that is what i ment about one becomeing the other because about 5% of my petis become grand and the only difference is that the muscle in my cheeks will flex like i'm smiling even though i'm not. this tells me i have a split second to try to fight off the seizure or get to a safe place, i.e. a chair or even better the floor. this new accurance scares me to death, my heart races and my breathing quickens, almost like a panic attack, i loose the abilit to talk and then to control my body at all. then the unconciousness come thank goodness, and i wake some time latter. i hope this answers your question some what.
on a side note, for almost 6 yrs i owned a ferrett and damn i if he did not react every time i had a peti, even if he was in another room or in him cage, if in another room he instantly, usually just as it was happening would enter the room i was in and get my attention, if he was in his cage he would get hyper, almost to the state of panic and not stop till i opened the cage and showed him i was alright. my husband said he acted the same way with my grands and would not settle down till he was taken to me and shown i was okay. very weird animal but the most loving thing i have ever owned. after he passed i looked into seizure alert animals but all i could find was dogs and i am not canine friendly.
