do you ever get the feeling that seizures may be a type of mental evolution? a way that thought processes may be jumpstarted into different ways of conceiving?
that seizures are as traumatic as, say, trauma the first icthys fish had to conceive when it started walking over spans of land, or any other sort of evolutionary process?

when I start feeling these experiences that are unique emotions or unique conceptions (that then result in a KO because the human brain is still adapting), I find it hard to always consider it "bad" simply because it is unique.

trees don't just grow a trunk - nor is thought, invention, conception a linear process. branches protrude until they find convincing light. because it may grow in a dark direction momentarily doesn't mean it is "wrong" - it means it is finding zen through experiencing darkness and light. A linear tree would not thrive.

I don't think seizures are a form of mental "evolution", but I don't think they are necessarily entirely "bad" either. Folks with migraines or seizures can see amazing patterns, or have amazing thoughts. And electroshock therapy is basically a form of controlled seizure -- for folks who are extremely depressed, the process is effective at "rebooting" the brain, and helping the individual to function. That said, seizures obviously exact a significant toll mentally and physically, and can interfere with someone's ability to fully participate in life.

which makes me consider depression likely comorbid to seizures because individual not feeling like part of life, and reality for that matter
no matter what happens it's not a full or coherent participation in life

Well, in the case of electroshock therapy, the "seizures" actually help to treat the depression, rather than co-existing with it.

I read somewhere that seizures are nature's way of trying to correct something 'electrically wrong' in the brain. I know that after every cluster of seizures I felt so calm, so peaceful, and was (finally) able to sleep. So I've never really looked at my seizures as being 'bad', especially since I also suffer from disabling OCD - seizures were really my only hope of correcting my brain.

same here with (self-defined) OCD/busy head... and after a TC seizure it does feel very calming - except when I have had to deal with a lot of strangers, strange situations etc. - it has gotten "better"/easier to cope the more I've come to comprehend
