Well, Saturday is purple day and i'm so excited about it. I am fortunate that we are having our state elections here and so that means that fundraising at the polling centres may prove to be a perfect opportunity. I haven't received a definite answer yet, I was told i'd get a call back today to confirm it's okay to fundraise on election day but was told it likely will be fine. I'm planning on selling purple ribbons with 'Purple Day for Epilepsy' embossed them (i'm wearing mine now - have been since last Thursday) and making purple cupcakes. I have also ordered my 'purple and proud' t shirt which they said is guaranteed to be delivered by Friday at the latest. If I receive it by Thursday i'll wear it to school on Friday (i'm a teacher).
Also, at school i've been trying to sell ribbons (nobody has bought anything yet) and on Friday i'll be holding an epilepsy awareness quiz for the staff - they can win a small prize (eg. lollies) for correctly answering (or perhaps even just attempting) questions about Epilepsy. I'm encouraging people to wear purple on Friday also.
What is everyone else doing for Purple Day?

I have to admit, I didn't know about purple day :( But in my defense, I do have on purple today! Just a lucky pick today. I hope that you were able to have your fund raiser and sell your ribbons and cupcakes ( which by the way, sound fantastic) :hungry:

Purple Day is not until Saturday (or Friday for schools and businesses) so you haven't missed anything yet.

Here is the website all about purple day, a global campaign to promote epilepsy awareness internationally. The founder of purple day is Cassidy Megan a young girl (12years old now I think - she was 9 when she started up purple day) from Nova Scotia, Canada. http://www.purpleday.org/campaign.php

Anyone got anything planned at all?????
I've just got my 'purple and proud' shirt in the mail and i've started on baking the cupcakes. I'm so psyched. I did get approval for to have the stall so that will be happening on Saturday. Tomorrow is the school staff event.

Nothing planned except wearing purple. I'm not old enough to plan things in this town. Where I live, you have to be at least 40 before they take you seriously. Darn small town! I will leave you one day! :roflmao:

I will be in D.C too! I can not believe they are calling for freaking snow! How ridiculous!! Oh well! Should be fun no matter the weather.

I's so jealous I wanted to be there but no funds right now. My sister works there too I guess I really had no excuse other than its my birthday too and my kids didn't want me to leave. HAPPY PURPLE DAY ALL.
