Heat in Dallas is a certainty, but unfortunately I came home last night to my AC not working. I contacted my warranty company. After a miserable night, I found out today that the repairman cannot make it until tomorrow afternoon. I called the warranty company back and asked if they could make any exception to get it soon as I know my epilepsy and extreme heat don't mix. It is going to be another near 100 degree day. It doesn't look too hopeful.
I know I have read on here about heat triggering seizures. I am at work where it is cool, but dreading another hot night. I am dealing with headaches today and just don't know what will happen. I guess I am just venting, not much can be done.

Any chance you could stay at a friend's? Or in a motel? If those aren't options, then plug in a bunch of fans, drink plenty of water, soak your feet in water, and take a cool shower before going to bed.

No, I really don't have an option to stay any where else. I have a fan in my son's room and one in my room. I took a cold shower last night before bed and within 30 minutes, I was completely dry. I kept cold rags on myself and my dogs all night...but just no way of cooling down.

Could you

possibly buy another couple of fans? I know that sounds a bit extreme, but.........if that's what it's gonna take......and maybe a block of ice that you can stick in the tub and let the cod from it help bring the air temp around it down a bit.....

Well, I pulled the epilepsy card out and warranty company said they would get someone out to my house this afternoon....I hate doing that, but the heat is scaring me!

Well sometimes ya gotta push people a bit. I don't blame you at all! Is this something that some people encounter with heat? I never noticed it before but this year I seem more irritated and unsteady in the warmer weather (nothing like Texas though)

Heat can be a trigger for some of us....and the Texas heat is nothing to mess with. Yesterday's high was only 89, yet the temp in the house was 94 last night. Today is much hotter. Along with the heat problem is the problem of lack of sleep..I only slept about 5 hours last night due to getting up every few hours to cool myself down.
I do feel so much better knowing there is help on the way! Thanks to listening to my venting.

Oh my, I couldn't imagine trying to take the last few days without A/C. It's brutal down here right now. I hope you get your situation resolved ASAP!

The lady I talked to at the warranty company was very understanding, said she had family member with E and understood the danger of the extreme heat. She had an electrician come out late that night and got it working so I could sleep that night. I am so thankful to have AC again!
